EUREKA! FACT SHEET

Eureka! 2009 presents the vision Discovery, Knowledge, and networking. The word Eureka has been linked to the concept of discovery since the early Greeks. DND Bergen-Hordaland fulfils the goals of the organization with this new two-day conference in Bergen, the 28-29th January.

Discovery is the unifying concept of this event that features contributions from every special interest group in the district.  Participants can expect to DISCOVER in-depth KNOWLEDGE building tutorials, a challenging keynote address, and the opportunity to meet and NETWORK with both new and old colleagues.  The conference will retain an informal atmosphere that encourages dialogue with the invited speakers both in and out of the program sessions. Creating the ‘IT meeting place’ in Bergen is just one goal of the organizing committee.

The planning committee is working hard to create an event that combines both thought provoking and visionary insights with practical solutions. To meet this commitment, the program is compact and filled with plenary sessions, tutorials, workshops and experience reports. Long breaks and lunches facilitate discussion and relationship-building during the event.

Our target audience comes from throughout Norway and the conference language will be Norwegian. However, a number of high-quality international speakers are invited, so English will be an occasional second language.

Please send your ideas and suggestions for speakers or themes to the committee.

The program contains material attractive to the full range of corporate attendees, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large multinationals. Sessions are planned that appeal to both the expert and the novice in the respective fields.

Presentations will be focused on new and mature topics, from the latest security simulations to tips for successful project management.  Themes will address the concerns of the enterprise, whether large or small, with the aim of helping the IT professionals of Bergen-Hordaland achieve world-class information technology skills in support of world-class businesses.

The Radisson SAS Royal Hotel at Bryggen has been reserved for this conference over the two days. This spacious facility supports an exhibition area, which will be set-up in the lobby.

The exhibitor’s salon will feature providers of services, software and other knowledge solutions. If you are interested in exhibiting, please take contact with the committee.

We are also seeking corporate sponsors! Our current sponsors include [list here].

Plan to join us in this venture of discovery, knowledge, and networking!
