Understanding Topic Maps NB: DETTE KURSET ER FULLT!

This tutorial provides a solid introduction to Topic Maps for anyone
who is a newcomer to the subject. It covers what topic maps are and
what kinds of problems they can solve. The basic Topic Maps constructs
(topics, associations and occurrences) are explained using the simple
yet powerful TAO Model. More advanced topics, such as scope and
identity, are also covered. The tutorial concludes with a review of
real world Topic Maps applications.

the leading open source Topic Maps-driven Content Management System.
You will learn how to get up and running, create your ontology, start filling
the knowledge base, customize apperance and start the conference with
your own topic map.

Wandora is an Open Source Java application for building and managing
topic maps. Wandora has a graphical user interface, several data
storage options, and rich data extraction, import and export
capabilities. Wandora is well suited for rapid ontology construction
and knowledge mashups.
We would like to focus on how to use Wandora as a semantic extraction
tool, and demonstrate how to use Wandora to do semantic mashups. This
is a hands-on workshop which is targeted towards developers interested
in Topic Maps, Semantic Web technologies or web mash-ups.
We will use a few of the many interesting Wandora extractors to
generate topic maps. Possible extractors include MP3, FreeDB (music CD
metadata), Internet Movie Database, generic SQL database, BibTeX,
Flickr, YouTube, Digg, Del.icio.us, some microformats (geo, adr,
hcalendar, hcard), OpenCalais, OpenCyc, Wikipedia, Geonames and Wordnet.

På onsdag ettermiddag, etter endt kursdag, inviteres alle konferansedeltakere til en festlig sammenkomst over Tapas og forfriskninger på Myrens kjøkken på Torshov. Her kan du diskutere nyvunnet kunnskap, utveksle erfaringer med likesinnede, bli kjent med erfarne emnekartbrukere og -utviklere, hilse på "guruene" - eller rett og slett bare kose deg med god mat i godt selskap!
Vi møtes på Myrens kjøkken, rundt hjørnet for Bouvet, rett etter kursene. Tapas serveres fra kl 1800.
