Part 1: Power BI vs Tableau: Which is best for my organization?

Speaker: Jessica Aguilar

Everyone is collecting data, but many organizations have not taken the next step with Business Intelligence by visualizing their data. Data visualization transforms hard to follow tables and turns them into graphs and charts that can quickly communicate relationships and showcase trends and patterns more easily.
In this presentation, we will be taking an in-depth look at the two leading Business Intelligence tools in the market – MS Power BI and Tableau. We will be comparing features to help those who are undecided or looking to switch to make a more informed decision.

Bio
Jessica has a master’s degree in Business Administration with a certificate in International Business from Washington State University and majored in Management Information Systems during her undergrad years. She recently had the opportunity to work for two companies who were either implementing or expanding on their Business Intelligence capabilities using the leading two business intelligence products currently on the market: Microsoft Power BI and Tableau. These experiences have given her significant insights into each of these two products and has enabled her to assist companies in making decisions on which data visualization tool best meets their organizational needs.

Part 2: Tabular Data Modeling and Calculation Techniques Beyond the Basics in Power BI

Speaker: Paul Turley

After mastering the fundamental principles of dimensional modeling, learn how to solve real-world problems with Power BI and DAX. We’ll explore many-to-many relationships and using disconnected tables to drive dynamic calculations; also options for using composite models to provide real-time access to source data and to combine assets from existing data models.
